Moon and Planet

A razor-thin crescent moon glows warm orange against a black sky, a single brilliant planet gleaming just below it. A quietly spectacular conjunction, beautifully simple. Fun fact: The whole disc of the crescent moon is often faintly visible — a glow called "earthshine," or "the old moon in the new moon's arms," caused by sunlight bouncing off Earth and gently lighting the lunar night side.
