Green Bee-eater on the Diagonal

An Asian green bee-eater blazes emerald against a green field, poised on a diagonal twig with its needle bill and long central tail-streamer. One of the subcontinent's most photogenic little birds. Fun fact: Bee-eaters really do eat bees — and they disarm them first, whacking the insect against a perch to squeeze out the venom before swallowing, so they never get stung on the way down.
