The Golden Jackal
A golden jackal stands alert in tall green grass, ears pricked, eyes fixed on the camera — a rare, clean look at a wary and intelligent wild canid. Quietly powerful. Fun fact: Golden jackals mate for life, and pairs hunt and raise pups as a devoted team; their eerie, rising chorus of howls — often starting at dusk — is one of the classic sounds of the South Asian countryside.
