Pipit on a Rock
A paddyfield pipit stands tall on a rock, its streaky buff plumage and long legs set against a smooth green wash. Understated and elegant — a bird that's all about posture. Fun fact: Pipits are famously hard to tell apart, and birders only half-joke about the "little brown job" problem — the paddyfield pipit is often identified by its call and long hind claw as much as by its looks.
